Call for research proposals 2016 between BELSPO and UNESCO's Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme
Under the agreement signed in 2015 between UNESCO and BELSPO (Belgian Science Policy Office) to strengthen the MAB scientific network and the MAB World Network of Biosphere Reserves, particularly in Africa, a call for projects was launched by BELSPO in collaboration with UNESCO on the research theme: "Development of a methodology to evaluate the economic value of ecosystem goods and services in Biosphere Reserves in support to the transition to a green economy." This theme has been identified on the basis of recommendations on a workshop to exchange experiences on "green economies in African Biosphere Reserves" organized by UNESCO, the Principé Biosphere Reserve and the French Fund for Global Environment in December 2015. The purpose of this call for proposal is to support research in biosphere reserves and to promote partnerships between networks of partnerships, in particular North-South partnerships.
